(they’re at the library okay)
“Hey, who’s the kid?” Percy pointed to Kaiko, head tilted.
“So you had a kid and named ‘er Kaito? Why are you bringing her here?”
Saki pursed her lips and took a deep breath. “You wouldn’t believe me if I told you what really happened. She can’t stay at my house alone—”
“What, she an orphan?”
“No! P-Percy, can you just let us down here? If you want we can discuss it there.”
The man shrugged and moved over, commenting on how he wasn’t interested on discussing it any more. “You’d better make up a good excuse!” he called down the stairs.
People stared at her questioningly as she pulled Kaiko along to her ‘office.’
“Just stay here and don’t touch anything, I need to go punch in my card.”
Kaiko was silent as they spoke, pretending to be shy and innocent as she could. As she was taken down the stairs, she thought about how much more intimidating it was this time, the people starred at her, the doors were taller, it was all so confusing. As they went further, Saki mentioned something about staying put. “Alright,” she smiled.
